Cloud Nine Productions presents
An Evening With Blowers

Image of Henry BlowfeldWith one of the most distinctive voices in radio, Henry Blowfeld has become one of the cornerstones of the BBC during his many years commentating for Test Match Special on Radio 4. Cricket may not be regarded as one of the most radio-friendly of sports, but Blowers’ natural ability to inject warmth and wit into his moments behind the microphone has made TMS an institution. Blowers proves to be equally charming and hilarious when removed from the commentary box for this one-man show and will be reflecting on his life and career, as well as on the many colourful characters he has met along the way, including writer Ian Fleming who appropriated his name for his arch villain, Ernst Blofeld, in several James Bond books. Raconteurs simply don’t come any better.

£ 15

“Side splitting … a quintessentially British affair in which Blowers trawls through his extraordinary life” BBC Berkshire

The Fureys And Davey Arthur

Image of The Fureys and Davey ArthurCelebrating their 30th anniversary, The Fureys and Davey Arthur will be doing what they do best - namely bringing their music, songs and stories to generations who have enjoyed them over the years. Previous audiences have included the late Pope John Paul, ex-Irish President Mary McAleese and Australian Prime Minister John Howard, while former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has stated that his favourite peace song of all time is The Fureys’ Green Fields Of France. There is nothing we can say about these legends of Irish music that people don’t already know, so don’t miss this opportunity to hear them sing all their hits, including When You Were Sweet 16, The Old Man, Red Rose Café, From Clare To Here, Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway, Leaving Nancy and Steal Away.
