One of the greatest of all silent comedies and arguably Buster Keaton’s greatest film, Steamboat Bill, Jr is here given a rare screening. Keaton plays Willie, estranged son of William ‘Steamboat Bill’ Canfield, captain of an old steamship. Willie’s return after a long time away leads to trouble when he dates Kitty King (Marion Byron), daughter of his father’s biggest rival. When his dad is arrested, Willie battles a fierce cyclone to come to the rescue, leading to one of the most celebrated sequences in silent film history.
