Swishes And Wishes

The show opens with two pirate gangs (The Roaring Reds and The Battling Blues) fighting for treasure. A battle ensues with the treasure being stolen back and forth until one team triumphs. Following this Highams brings to life some of the characters from the film Hairspray and portrays some of the themes of that era in the late 50s early 60s through music. After the interval the younger members of the school will give a performance inspired by The Little Mermaid. Watch out for some very impressive crabs and fish and other sea creatures. The show finishes with music from the stage production of Billy Elliot. Again, rather than recreating the story, Highams produces its own interpretation of Elton John’s truly great score.
