The Glenn Miller Story in Words and Music

Glenn Miller Story
Thu 7th October - 8pm
Main Auditorium

Presented by The Sue Greenway 17-Piece Orchestra and Singers

The life and music of the great American composer and bandleader Glenn Miller is celebrated in this swinging Bib Band show featuring Sue Greenway’s extraordinary orchestra comprised of some of the country’s finest musicians. As well as building up a extensive library of authentic big band arrangements, Sue has even gone to the lengths of acquiring identical music stands to those that were on occasion used by Major Glenn Miller! Sue and the band will be joined on stage by Tony Jacobs (the male vocalist with The Syd Lawrence Orchestra for 10 years), who also narrates, and Catherine Sykes, who has toured with the European Glenn Miller Orchestra. As well as Glenn Miller, the show also tips its hat to other greats of the time, including Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman. If you’re a fan of Big Band music and Glenn Miller you cannot afford to miss this show.
